Cases and proposals
Cases and proposals
Updated September 29, 2026
From creating a case to reading the profit outlook, comparing and adopting terms options, sharing a proposal with a liver, and moving the phase forward.
What a case is for
A case is one piece of work: selling a partner's product in a LIVE. You decide whether to take it, negotiate terms, prepare the LIVE and settle, all from the case screen.
The phases are Inquiry → Go / no-go → Terms → Prep → Live → Settlement → Done. To stop partway, mark the case as Declined.
Create a case
- On the case list, select "New case".
- Enter the case name, partner, deal type (agency, consignment or purchase), owner and start and end dates. Search for the partner by name, or register a new one on the spot.
- Select "Register case". The case starts in Inquiry, and tasks for each phase are created automatically.
You can also start from "Draft a case" on a market product page or in COMSEE AI at work on Today. The case opens with the product name filled in; choose a partner and register it. No case is created until you register it.
Enter products and costs
- Products: Select "Add product" on the case screen and enter the name, wholesale price, price, TikTok fee, shipping, other costs, planned units and tax rate. If TikTok Shop is connected, you can link the product to a shop product.
- Costs: Select "Edit costs" to enter the creator fee (fixed and commission rate), samples, ads, return rate and warehouse fees. Cases with liver collaborations use the collaboration amounts.
- Tax rate: Choose "Auto" to follow your case items and shop category (8% for Food & Beverages shops). You can also choose 8% or 10% per item.
- Tax-inclusive or exclusive: Choose next to the wholesale price, shipping and other cost fields. Tax-inclusive fields are calculated without the tax.
- Costs you have not entered are calculated as ¥0 and shown as "Not entered". For how tax-inclusive prices, the platform fee rate and the destination mix are set, see Organization settings.
Read the case outlook
The top of the case screen shows the profit if half sells and the profit per order. Below that, the case outlook shows how many units you need to sell to make a profit.
- COMSEE AI summary: How many units you need to break even on current terms (or whether selling out still loses money), and what changes if you raise the price 10% and lower the creator fee 10%. Select "Try this option" to put those values into the controls on the right.
- Units sold and profit: A chart with units sold across and profit up. It marks where you break even and the profit if the planned units sell out. The line is flat after the planned units, since you cannot sell more than you planned.
- Adjust the terms: Move the price, creator fee and planned units, and the chart, units to break even, chance of profit and median profit update right away. The control values are not saved.
- Which assumption matters most: How much profit changes when price, wholesale, shipping, fees and so on each move 10%, largest first.
Similar products and the chance of profit
For organizations with TikTok Shop connected, the chart also shows how many units similar products sold in the 14 days after first entering the TikTok Shop top 100, one line per product. The chance of profit is the share of similar products that sold at least the units you need.
- Similar products are in the same category as the case's product (the linked TikTok Shop product's category, or else a category inferred from the product name), narrowed by words in the product name.
- Counting only products that reached the top 100 can make units run high; using the lower bound of the official sales range can make them run low. Similar products' sales are divided by this case's price to get units.
- With fewer than 30 similar products, the spread and the chance of profit are not shown.
Compare and adopt terms options
- Select "Add option" and enter the price, TikTok fee, units per order, wholesale price, tax rate, bundled items, who pays shipping, temperature, package size and planned units. After moving the controls, "Create an option with these terms" opens the form with the price and planned units filled in.
- With two or more options, they appear side by side in the comparison table. The option with the highest profit if half sells is marked "Highest". Use "Duplicate" to change just one item and compare.
- Select "Adopt" to check the change in profit and the TikTok product to link. Adopting puts the option's values into the case's product. You can undo within 5 seconds.
Create and share a proposal with a liver
- On the case screen, open "Proposal for livers".
- Enter the opening line for the first 30 seconds, 3 to 5 selling points, what to show on camera, likely questions and things not to say. Choose a source for each selling point. Claims without a source are marked "To check" and cannot be approved.
- Select "Approve". Use "Preview as creators see it" to check that the case name, partner name, wholesale price and profit are not included.
- Under "Share with a liver", choose the liver, the version to share and how long the link lasts, then select "Create share link". The liver can open the link without logging in. You can stop a link at any time.
Only the approved version is shared.
Move the phase forward
- Use "Next step" on the case screen to complete tasks or move to the next phase. Before moving, check what gets decided and which tasks and due dates are created.
- If tasks from earlier phases are still open, choose whether to close them or carry them over. After moving, select "Undo" to go back.
- From "…" (More actions), you can edit the case, go back a phase or decline it. Declining needs a reason. A case in Prep must go back to Terms before it can be declined.
The case list
The case list has three views: timeline, board and table. You can filter, save views and export CSV. Amounts are the profit if half sells; before an option is adopted, they are marked "Provisional".
