What regulatory updates are

After "This week's market" on Today, up to 3 regulatory changes related to your shop's categories are shown: calls for public comment, published results and law amendments, such as those under the Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations, the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act and food labeling rules.

  • Titles and dates are shown as published on e-Gov, in Japanese.
  • COMSEE selected them by keyword. They are not notices from the government.

Sources

There are only two sources:

  • e-Gov public comments: calls for comment and published results are imported daily. Only those under the Consumer Affairs Agency, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry are used.
  • e-Gov law search: amendments to the Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations, the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions, the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act, the Food Labeling Act, the Food Sanitation Act and the Health Promotion Act are imported once a week.

Changes to TikTok Shop policies and articles from private media are not imported.

What is shown

  1. Each item is assigned a category (beauty, health, food, all categories) by keywords in its title and the ministry.
  2. Items matching your shop's category are selected: beauty for Beauty & Personal Care shops, health for Health shops, and food for Food & Beverages shops. Items for all categories are shown to every shop. Organizations whose shop category is not set see only items for all categories.
  3. Items published, promulgated or taking effect in the last 14 days, and calls for comment still open, are shown newest first, up to 3. If nothing matches, the section is not shown.

Reading a row

  • Title: the original title. Selecting it opens the source page in a new tab.
  • Tags: the kind (call for comment, published result, law amendment) and the category.
  • Dates: the publication date and deadline for a call for comment, the publication date of a result, and the promulgation and effective dates of a law.
  • Source: e-Gov public comments or e-Gov law search.
  • AI summary: one or two sentences below the title.

About the AI summaries

  • The summary is made with AI by the company that operates COMSEE. Check the original at the link.
  • Numbers, dates and titles are inserted from the imported facts, and company names and kinds of penalties are never written into the summary text. A summary that fails the checks is not shown; only the title and dates are.
  • When a title or date is corrected, the previous summary is no longer shown.
  • Summaries are in Japanese only. The English and Chinese screens show only the title and dates.

Organizations that do not see them
