Hosts and requests
Hosts and requests
Updated September 29, 2026
How to add hosts, create requests, record samples, schedules, delivery and results, and check whether a request was worth the cost.
What hosts and requests are for
Hosts are the people you ask to sell your products. A request is one agreement asking one host to sell one case. For each request you record the terms, samples, schedule, delivery and results, and see which promises are late and whether the request was worth the cost.
Switch between the host list and the request list with "Hosts" and "Requests" at the top of the page.
Add a host
- Select "Add host".
- Enter the name. If needed, enter the TikTok username (the part after @), selling style, affiliation (in-house or external), strong categories, audience and fit, usual fee, usual commission rate and notes. The name alone is enough.
- When you pick a host for a request or a shared pitch, you can also type a new name and add it on the spot.
With a TikTok username, "Performance from your shop data" on the host page shows sales and concurrent viewers (last 90 days) from your connected shop's LIVEs and videos under that username. Results from other shops are not shown.
Create a request
- Select "Create request".
- Choose the host and the case.
- Choose how you pay (paid, commission, both) and enter the fee and commission rate. The defaults come from the case's projected host fee or the host's usual terms.
- Enter what's requested (live, video post, or both), the number of times and the agreed details, then select "Create request".
Record each step
A request moves through Terms → Sample → Schedule → Delivery → Results. The current step's fields are open; fill them in and select "Record" to move to the next step.
- Sample: enter the number of samples, the sample cost and the date sent. Enter 0 if you won't send any. The sample cost is included in the case's costs.
- Schedule: use "Add plan" to add each live or video with its date. Entering a stream time for a live adds a stream to the calendar; changing the date moves it. The date the sample was received and "within N days of receipt" set the deadline for plans without a date.
- Delivery: choose "Done" or "Not done" and enter the date checked and the live / post link. If the host has a TikTok username and the case products are linked to TikTok products, delivery is checked automatically against your shop's LIVEs and videos (every morning, for the previous day).
- Results: enter units sold and GMV. If a linked stream has LIVE data, those values are used and can't be edited by hand.
After entering results, select "Finish". To stop partway, select "Drop". The records are kept, and "Reopen" brings the request back.
Check whether it was worth the cost
"Cost and sales by request" on the host page lists each request on one row.
- The grey bar is the cost and the black bar is sales. Cost is the request fee, commission and samples combined.
- The "N×" on the right is sales ÷ cost. Below 1× it is shown in red.
- The line above reads "Across N requests with results, sales were N× the cost". This compares sales, not gross profit.
- Requests without results show "No results yet" and are not counted in the ratio. Dropped requests are not counted.
The host list shows "Cost and sales by host" only when at least one host has results, ordered by sales ÷ cost.
For now, results are entered by hand. Once TikTok Affiliate is connected, they come in automatically.
The request list
- Use the filters on the left to choose promises (overdue, due soon / stalled), a step, or closed.
- Overdue requests come first, then those due soon; within each, the earliest scheduled date comes first.
- Select a row to open the request.
