This month's goal and the gap
Updated October 4, 2026
How to set this month's sales goal, how progress shows on Today, how to read the proposal and its basis when sales fall behind the pace, and how to ask COMSEE AI about it.
What the monthly goal does
Once you set this month's sales goal, the top right of Today shows what percentage of the goal this month's sales have reached. In a month that falls behind the daily pace, a proposal to decide how to close the gap arrives in the inbox.
- The goal is a number your shop decides. COMSEE never sets a goal.
- COMSEE does not forecast sales. It only shows the goal, sales so far, the daily share, and the gap calculated from them.
Set a goal
- Select "Set a goal" at the top right of Today. For a month that already has a goal, it is "Change goal".
- Enter the sales goal in yen. It is the total of product prices this month, excluding shipping.
- Goals for the number of orders and streams are optional. With an order goal, the gap can be split into an orders part and an average-price part.
- Select "Save".
- Owners and operators can set or change the goal. The values before and after a change are kept in the audit log.
- The screen sets this month's goal. Goals for past months cannot be changed.
- Sales so far are the total product prices of this month's orders (those already paid) in the connected TikTok Shop.
Reading progress
The "x% of goal" at the top right is sales so far ÷ goal. The proposal's basis and COMSEE AI's answers use these values:
- Daily share: goal × days so far ÷ days in the month. Days so far include today.
- Pace against the daily share: sales so far ÷ daily share.
- Needed per day: gap to the goal ÷ remaining days (rounded up). Today's sales are already counted, so today is not one of the remaining days.
The gap proposal
The nightly job places one "Decide how to close the gap to this month's goal" proposal in the inbox in a month that meets all of these:
- At least 7 days of the month have passed
- The goal is not reached and days remain in the month
- Sales so far are below 85% of the daily share
- There is at least 1 order this month
While it waits for a decision, it is replaced every day with that day's numbers. Once someone approves or dismisses it, no more are placed that month.
The basis lists these facts:
- Progress: goal, sales so far, gap, daily share and pace, remaining days and the amount needed per day
- Splitting the gap: with an order goal, the gap is split into the orders part ((order goal − orders so far) × current average price) and the average-price part (the rest). The two add up to the gap to the yen. Without an order goal, it shows how many more orders are needed at the current average price.
- Candidates to close the gap: sales per stream over the last 28 days and how many streams the gap equals at that amount / the products with the most sales this month (up to 3) / the total amount estimated by proposals waiting for approval
Approving it creates one task inside COMSEE to decide how to close the gap. Nothing is written to TikTok. The task can be undone.
Ask COMSEE AI
Ask COMSEE AI "how do we close the gap to the goal" and it reads this month's goal, progress and the candidate facts before answering. It only uses the same values as the basis above and never invents a forecast. If no goal is set for the month, it says so.
For how to read proposals waiting for approval, see Today and COMSEE AI.
